Warsaw. The temporary roundabout will be permanent. This is what Chodecka Street will look like

The capital road workers predict that the reconstruction of Chodecka Street will start in the first half of March. According to the project, a new roundabout will be built there. The plan is to designate new parking spaces and plant trees. The works will consume over PLN 10 million.

At the end of December last year, we reported on tvnwarszawa.pl on signing the contract for the reconstruction of the last section of Chodecka Street Along with the construction of a roundabout at the intersection with Mother Teresa Street of Calcutta. The intersection of circular traffic was organized here temporarily. It will stay permanently after the reconstruction.

Parking on the road and a row of trees

As the Municipal Road Administration explains, the first stage that results from the contract is preparatory work. They consist mainly in gathering the necessary documents and arrangements or developing a temporary traffic organization project.

“Preparations are already at the final stage, which means that in the first half of March the first workers will appear at Chodecka. They will have eight months to carry out a planned metamorphosis,” informs ZDM.

The project assumes that the geometry of the Chodecka inlet on the section from the roundabout to Żuromińska will change. Parallel parking places on the road will also come, and on its west side – a row of trees.

Works for PLN 10.5 million

“As part of the project, we also want to renovate the last, untouched section of Chodecka – from Wyszogrodzka to Balconowa. In addition to renovating the road and pavements, we will also rebuild the pedestrian crossing at Żuromińska. In the security audit, it received a low rating – 1” – add roads in the communiqué.

Chodecka wanted to rebuild as many as 12 companies. Most of the majority was below the assumed budget, ZDM finally chose KOP, which will make an investment for less than PLN 10.5 million.
