Pursuant to the ordinance of the President of Warsaw, booksellers and antique shops joined the group of entrepreneurs who can apply for renting a city premises on preferential terms.
– From March this year, districts can already determine the preferential starting rent for renting premises and increase the frequency of announcing profiled competitions for bookstores and antique shops – announced the President of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski last week.
Not only booksellers and antiquarian
According to the capital's town hall, in Warsaw, 40 bookstores and antique shops operate in premises belonging to the city. These are usually small, independent and intimate facilities that are unable to compete with networks. From this month, entrepreneurs conducting this type of activity may apply for the rental of commercial premises on preferential terms. Its principles, rent and lease period will be determined by the management boards of individual districts.
The town hall pointed out that similar competitions also announce for entities conducting craft services. – rent rates for craft services, especially unique, rare ones must differ from market rates. This is a unique and extremely important activity for the city, and therefore we must take care of it especially – said Trzaskowski.
