The next few days will bring major changes in the weather. A warm front will pass over Poland, followed by air from the mid-Atlantic. In places the temperature will rise to even 10 degrees Celsius. But how long will this warming last?

As tvnmeteo.pl forecaster Arleta Unton-Pyziołek explained, Poland is under the influence of a large low-pressure vortex with the center moving towards the British Isles. A warm front will approach western Poland from the west, bringing heavy snowfall turning into sleet in the west and southwest of the country. Cold Arctic air will begin to be displaced by warm air masses from the mid-Atlantic.

Weather forecast for Sunday

Sunday there will be cloudy weather throughout the country. Gradually, the west and south of Poland will be covered by a zone of heavy snowfall of up to 4-8 centimeters. In the afternoon, up to 1-3 cm of snow may fall in the central and southern regions, and in Lower Silesia and the Lubusz region, precipitation will begin to turn into snow with rain with up to 10 liters of water per square meter. There will be difficult road conditions.

Thermometers will show from -2 degrees Celsius in Podlasie, through 0 degrees C in the central regions to 1 degree C in western Poland. The south wind will be moderate and quite strong, gusting to 60 kilometers per hour in the west and up to 80 km/h in the Sudetes.

Weather forecast for Monday and Tuesday

In the following days, the center of the low will move over Scandinavia and, together with the fronts, will shape the weather in Poland. On Monday, a warm front will enter the north-eastern regions of Poland with snowfall and rain, and warm air will flow in a wide stream from the south. The temperature will rise to 10 degrees. Later, a cold front will pass over the country and the temperature will drop slightly.

In the west there will be intermittent rainfall up to 3 l/sq m, and in the north and northeast – snow with rain up to 5 l/sq m. The maximum temperature will range from 2 degrees C in the Suwałki region, through 8 degrees C in the center of the country to 10 degrees C in the Lubusz region. A moderate and quite strong wind will blow from the southwest, with gusts reaching 60-80 km/h.

In Tuesday the sky over Poland will be cloudy again. In the waist from Mazurka and Podlasie, through the center of the country, to Silesia, up to 5 l/sq m. rain. The thermometers will show from 4 degrees C in the Suwałki region, through 5-6 degrees C in central Poland to 9 degrees C in the Podkarpacie region. The wind will be southwesterly, moderate and quite strong, with gusts reaching speeds of up to 60 km/h.

Weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday

It is expected to be cloudy throughout Poland Wednesday with clouds of light. At times in the north and center there will be snowfall of up to 2 cm and snow with rain of up to 5 l/sq m. Thermometers will show from 2 degrees C in Podlasie, through 3 degrees C in the central regions to 5 degrees C in the south. Moderate and quite strong winds, gusting up to 60-80 km/h, will blow from the southwest.

On Thursday, another warm front with mixed precipitation will enter our country from the west, and on Friday a cold front will move behind it. After a few moderately warm days, cooling and winter are expected to return.

Thursday it looks cloudy. In Pomerania, snow may fall up to 5 cm, and in the rest of the country – snow with sleet and rain up to 5 l/m2. It shouldn't rain only in Podkarpacie. The maximum temperature will range from 1 degree C in the north of Poland, through 4 degrees C in the center of the country to 8 degrees C in Podkarpacie. The southwest wind will be moderate, sometimes quite strong, gusting to 50-60 km/h.
