A 28-year-old from Węgrów County (Mazowieckie) is facing eight years in prison for organizing a professional hemp plantation in a utility room.
During a search of utility rooms, police officers from Węgrów discovered approximately 412 pieces of marijuana plants growing in pots. As midshipman Monika Księżopolska from the Węgrów police explained, there were also “other items indicating criminal activity and a significant amount of dried plants” in the room.
– The room the police entered was professionally prepared for the cultivation of narcotic drugs – the policewoman added.
Officers detained a 28-year-old suspect. The man at the District Prosecutor's Office in Węgrów was charged with growing and manufacturing narcotic drugs, which carries a prison sentence of up to eight years. At the request of the prosecutor, the court applied a preventive measure to the suspect in the form of pre-trial detention.
