In Łobez in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, there was a fire in a multi-family building with several apartments – said Captain Grzegorz Paluch, spokesman for the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Łobez. He added that “the entire attic is on fire.” Photos from the scene show that the roof collapsed. All people managed to evacuate before the fire brigade arrived.
The fire broke out in a multi-family building at ul. Świętoborzec in Łobez on Thursday evening.
– It is an old building with 16 apartments. All people were evacuated before the fire brigade arrived. There are no injuries – said the press officer of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Łobez, Captain Grzegorz Paluch.
He added that “the entire attic is on fire.” As the firefighter said, part of the roof truss “collapsed under the pressure of the fire and burnt parts of the structure, and the gables are also at risk of collapse.”
Photos shared on Facebook by the district headquarters after 8 p.m. show that the roof of the building collapsed.
According to the spokesman, around 8 p.m. the activities continued and – as he said – “the situation is dynamic.” 13 fire brigade units were dispatched to the site.
