Whale Attacks Boat Off US Coast Video Emerges
The footage shows the whale suddenly jumping out of the water and hitting the back of the boat. The approximately seven-meter vessel capsized and the two sailors fell into the water. They were later rescued by two teenagers who recorded the chilling scenes, according to NBC News.
One of them in a conversation with Fox News He said the large mammal had been seen by them from about a half-mile away before it swam closer and circled the boats before hitting the boat. The whale then dove and swam away. “I was in shock. Everyone else was reacting the same way and trying to get to the people. It was like, 'Oh shit,' and then, 'We have to help these people,'” said Wyatt Yager, 19, of Maine.
As a result of the whale attack, none of the fishermen were injured.
Fortunately, none of the anglers who fell out of the boat were injured. One of the teens said the men seemed to be in a bit of shock after the incident. “But they were in good spirits. They were laughing a little,” Wyatt Yager said.
The US Coast Guard has issued a plea for “safe navigation”. “If you see a whale, please report it to your local command center,” the service has asked boaters. Fox News reports that whales are common in New Hampshire waters, especially between June and August.
