What views does Karol Nawrocki actually have?

Must read

PiS repeats that Karol Nawrocki is a civic candidate. However, after his speeches, it is known that he repeats well-known PiS views on key issues – from Germany, through neo-judges and the European Union, to Smolensk.

Karol Nawrocki is trying to solve the problem of his election campaign and announces that he will immediately go on leave at the Institute of National Remembrance. The candidate also demands leave from his competitors, but only he is bound by the statutory provision that, as the president of the Institute of National Remembrance, he should be, in short, apolitical, but he is not. Therefore, leave for the entire campaign period is a minimum.

RafaÅ‚ Trzaskowski, as he says, separates his duties at the town hall from the campaign. – When I am engaged in an election campaign all day long, I have always taken leave and I will continue to take leave – assures the mayor of Warsaw.

Karol Nawrocki is a new face in politics, but after several public speeches it is already clear that he repeats a well-known set of PiS political views and sympathies: about reparations, the judiciary, Smolensk and the European Union.

In his opinion, “there is no such category as a neo-judge.”

– It would be naive to think or not suspect that it could be an attack – he said about the Smolensk disaster.

He said about the European Union that he was against centralization.

The lack of party emblems at his meetings may mislead voters, as may the slogan “end of the Polish-Polish war”. Because Karol Nawrocki, when appointed by PiS as the director of the Museum of the Second World War, – as we hear – started a war with employees.

– He simply fired, fired, and forced others to leave. The principal has many ways to do this. And others left on their own, unable to bear the atmosphere – informs prof. PaweÅ‚ Machcewicz, historian, director of the Museum of the Second World War in GdaÅ„sk in 2008-2017.

How Karol Nawrocki fought against Paweł Adamowicz

Another war broke out around the museum and exhibition itself. – He made arbitrary changes, politically motivated, I think. (…) In accordance with the recommendations of President JarosÅ‚aw KaczyÅ„ski – says Dr. Janusz Marszalec, deputy director of the Museum of the Second World War in GdaÅ„sk.

There was also a war with the GdaÅ„sk authorities, and President PaweÅ‚ Adamowicz was reported to the prosecutor's office. And then the war for Westerplatte, which was finally taken away by force by a special act of the PiS government. – There are no barriers and he believes that waving the red and white flag justifies any behavior – says Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, mayor of GdaÅ„sk.

The Westerplatte Museum is still under construction. An exhibit was also bought there – a stretcher, supposedly from Westerplatte, but in fact post-war and completely worthless. – This is not how a historian works – says Professor RafaÅ‚ Wnuk, who is the director of the Museum of the Second World War. – He should think critically. He should seek the truth and not assume that something must be true, he emphasizes.

Karol Nawrocki also owes the position of head of the Institute of National Remembrance to PiS. He also fired employees at the Institute of National Remembrance, but he drank coffee and took photos with an MMA fighter and – as the media reported – a former criminal.
