In the state park in the US state of Utah, famous for its characteristic red rocks, some of them have been colored blue. Authorities say someone probably used a gunpowder cannon. To clean the rocks, it was necessary to use 90 liters of water.
Snow Canyon State Park authorities published photos on social media on Friday showing a fragment of the rock formations before and after their contamination. “Someone fired a blue gunpowder cannon that stained our famous red rocks,” it wrote.
Cleaning took several hours
According to the entry, cleaning the rocks took 4.5 hours, required over 90 liters of water and involved traveling almost five kilometers back and forth.
“What would you rather see when visiting the park?” – asked rhetorically.
State park authorities stressed that the use of items such as confetti, flower petals and devices that produce various types of powder is not allowed. People were also reminded to leave everything tidy before leaving the park.
It is believed that the cannon was used during the baby's gender reveal ceremony and associated photo session.
A similar incident caused a fire
Similar situations have occurred in the United States in the past. As the American media recalled, in 2020, a couple used pyrotechnic material during a photo session to celebrate the announcement of the baby's gender in California's El Dorado Ranch at the foot of the San Bernardino Mountains, which led to a serious vegetation fire. A firefighter was killed and several people were injured.
