The critically acclaimed comedy-drama “Sometimes I Think About Dying” is one of the new releases that has just appeared on the Max platform. Viewers can also expect “Van Helsing” starring Hugh Jackman, as well as a series about the dark side of people striving to achieve fame. What is worth watching on the platform this week?
Fans of crime series have been waiting for a few days on the Max website “Deadly Blonde” – a six-part series where sex appeal meets true crime. Host Holly Madison, known from the series “Playboy's Dark Secrets”, exposes the dark side of people striving to gain fame. The series tells the story of Kim Pandelios, a young model who suddenly disappears after a secret photo shoot, Timothy Boham, a porn star trying to get out of the business, and Courtney Clenney, a model accused of murder.
Movies, series – new on the Max platform
The film has been available in streaming since Saturday “Until the end of the night” – a thriller about Robert Demant – a secret agent who is tasked with infiltrating a drug gang as Leni Malinowski's partner. The acquaintance, which is supposed to make the agent credible in the environment, turns out to be a challenge when feelings are involved. For the role of Leni, actress Thea Ehre received the Silver Bear for best supporting role in Berlinale 2023.
Another new feature on the Max platform is “Van Helsing” starring Hugh Jackman. The title character, played by the Hollywood star, is a legendary 19th-century monster hunter who must do battle with Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and the Wolf Man.
At the end of July, the Max library was also enriched by “Sometimes I think about dying” – a comedy-drama about a shy office worker, Fran (played by Daisy Ridley), who often thinks about death and spends most of her time alone. Her bubble of isolation is burst by a new employee in the office. “If you're tired of bombastic blockbusters, this might be the antidote,” critic Helen O'Hara wrote in Empire.
The Max platform belongs to the Warner Bros. Discovery group, the owner of TVN24.
