On Tuesday morning, cardinals will decide when the funeral of Pope Francis will take place. The media point out that the last farewell to the head of the church can take place on Saturday, April 26.

The funeral of Pope Francis will take place between Friday and Sunday – the press office told Vatican. The decision on the exact date of the funeral is to be made during the first Cardinals' Congregation, i.e. their assembly. It will take place on Tuesday morning.

It was recalled that in accordance with the norms of the Apostolic Constitution “Universi Dominici Gregis” John Paul II of 1996, the Pope's funeral is to take place between the fourth and sixth day of death.

The media point out that the probable date is therefore Saturday, April 26.
