US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that the United States takes Russia's threats against the Redzikowo base seriously. This is a response to the words of the spokeswoman of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who pointed out that the newly opened anti-missile defense base in Redzikowo “has been included on the list of priority targets for potential destruction.”
“We have seen these comments and of course you have to take these kinds of threats seriously and we do, no matter how reckless and irresponsible they are, we obviously take it seriously,” a spokesman for the National Security Council said on Monday USA John Kirby.
He referred to the spokeswoman's words in this way Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova, who stated last week that it was newly opened anti-missile shield base in Redzikowo “has been included on the list of priority targets for potential destruction” and that its opening contributes to an increase in the nuclear threat.

– President Joe Biden he is as tough as nails on this issue. We will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of our soldiers on the European continent. And just as importantly, we treat our Article V obligations [Traktatu NATO – red.] towards our NATO allies extremely seriously. This is undeniable and it will not change, Kirby said.
Questions about Ukraine's use of ATACMS systems
During Monday's briefing, a spokesman for the National Security Council also appeared to publicly confirm for the first time that the U.S. had provided assistance Ukraine permission to use ATACMS ballistic missiles indoors Russia. As he stated, Ukraine is effectively using these missiles “to defend itself in times of urgent need”, and currently this also applies to areas “in and around the Kursk region”.
– I will let the Ukrainians talk about how they use ATACMS and target selection procedures, what they use them for and how well they do it, but nothing has changed (…) well, of course, we have changed the rules so that they can hit these specific types of goals,” Kirby said.
So far, administration representatives have consistently refused to confirm information about the change in policy regarding the use of ATACMS, even though the Ukrainian side openly talked about strikes using these missiles.
