Magdalena Biejat from the Left Club admitted in the “#BezKitu” program that her name is “in the pool” of Left candidates for president. Krzysztof Brejza from KO, in turn, said that he would not reveal who he would vote for in his party's primaries because he did not want to “disturb the processes that are now taking place in the hearts and minds of Civic Platform activists.”
Deputy Speaker of the Senate Magdalena Biejat from the Left Club and MEP Krzysztof Brejza from the Civic Coalition discussed the upcoming presidential elections.
Biejat admitted that her name is “under discussion” and is “in the pool” of possible presidential candidates. – But we will all make this decision together in the Left. We will announce it to you soon. This is a decision I don't make alone. I take it up with my family and people from the Left. Now we are discussing and talking about which candidacy will be the best for the Left, she said.
She added that the Left will decide on the candidate within weeks, not months. – The calendar is racing, so I hope that in December you will find out who our candidate will be – said Magdalena Biejat.
The candidate of the Civic Coalition will be selected in the primaries in which the mayor of Warsaw will face RafaÅ‚ Trzaskowski and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs RadosÅ‚aw Sikorski. Krzysztof Brejza did not reveal who he would vote for. – That's the beauty of the primaries. I do not want to disturb the processes that are now taking place in the hearts and minds of Civic Platform activists. We have two great candidates with charisma and character. Each of them can perform this function with dignity and restore the dignity of the office of president, Brejza said.
– I am proud that they are in such a great team and I declare that from December 7, when the pre-campaign and then the campaign begin, we will all bite the grass to win these elections – he added.
“I think this will be a direct path to the defeat of Law and Justice”
Politicians were also asked who they thought would run in the presidential race on behalf of Law and Justice. – It seems that the MP (PrzemysÅ‚aw) Czarnek he has already declared himself quite clearly, although he did not say it directly. I've already heard about traveling around the country. I keep my fingers crossed for him, because I think it will be a direct path to the defeat of Law and Justice, said Magdalena Biejat.
Brejza, in turn, said that it would be in accordance with the requirements presented by the president PIS – someone “beautiful and handsome”. – Mr. (Marek) Suski With (JarosÅ‚aw) KaczyÅ„ski they hold these cards. Chaos, fights, throwing pigs, tripping, kicking ankles, stabbing people in the back – this is what the pre-campaign that was supposed to be in PiS looks like, there is serious chaos – said the MEP.
– These are civilizational choices. There is no longer any division into left, right, liberal or conservative scene. There is a simple division: into the fire of populism and the rational forces of moderation that defend pro-Western policy, argued Brejza.
