“Active Parent” is a government initiative that entered into force on October 1, 2024. Its purpose is to help small children's carers in combining family duties with paid work, including those who run farms. The new form of support, replacing the current family care capital, offers three flexible options, tailored to different lifestyles and needs. It will especially benefit from families living in the countryside, where organizing care for a child is often a considerable challenge. However, the program provides for specific rules for granting aid.
Who can use the “active parent”? These people may submit an application
According to information The benefits contained on the government's website can be used by all parents and legal guardians of toddlers aged 12 to 35 months of age. Support is granted for every child of this age and is not dependent on family income. There are three forms of assistance at your disposal, from which you can choose one – depending on the life and professional situation. The benefit is paid for a period of two years, with the possibility of changing the selected option during its collection.
- “Actively in a nursery” – up to PLN 1,500 per month (or PLN 1,900 with a disability certificate) to cover the costs of institutional care, e.g. a nursery, children's club or a daily guardian. The amount of support cannot exceed the actual care costs.
- “Active parents at work” – PLN 1,500 per month (PLN 1,900 for a child with disabilities), intended for any form of childcare, also the one exercised by a family member, e.g. grandmother. Importantly, the conclusion of a contract with a nanny is not mandatory, but if the parent decides to the activation agreement and reports it to ZUS, the state will pay for the carer contributions to 50 percent. minimum wage.
- “Actively at home “ – PLN 500 per month for parents who remain at home with their child and do not use the other two forms. This option replaces earlier family care capital and is also available to the first child.
The program is also fully available to families agricultural. Moreover, insurance in KRUS is treated equally with a full -time job, provided that it covers the full scope of obligation (100 % of the minimum wage for work). This solution is important especially for women in the countryside, which are not always formally employed, but really professionally active on the farm.
Where to submit the “active parent” application? You can do it in several places
Application The benefit from the “Active Parent” program should be transferred to the Social Insurance Institution, which serves all three forms of assistance, also in the case of insured persons in KRUS. The procedure looks the same for all entitled, also for farmers, their spouses and household members. Documents are made only electronically, using one of four comfortable paths:
- through the PUE ZUS platform,
- in the MZUS mobile application,
- via the Emp@tia portal on empatia.mpips.gov.pl,
- via electronic banking – as long as the bank has made such a function available.
For the inhabitants of village and farmers it is a great help. Just a phone computer And a moment of peace to arrange everything via the Internet, without going to the office. To submit an application, basic data is needed: child's PESEL number, identification information of a parent or guardian (e.g. proof number), as well as confirmation of professional activity. In the case of farmers, it is enough to show that they are insured in KRUS. If “grandma” is involved, you also need to provide the details of the person taking care of the toddler. After sending the application, ZUS has a maximum of two months to pay the benefit. Importantly, if the family met the conditions earlier, foam They will go to the account with equalization, from the day on which the right to support has been acquired.
