Magdalena Musiał dismissed from the position of director of the Pan Tadeusz Museum in Wrocław. According to Katarzyna Uczkiewicz, spokeswoman of the National Institute of Ossolińscy, on Tuesday, the employment contract with the director of the Pan Tadeusz Museum, Magdalena Musiał, was terminated by mutual consent.
“The director of the Ossolineum was misled regarding the details of the purchase of silver cutlery, which, although they are from the 19th century, are not of great museum value. The director, Dr. Łukasz Kamiński, did not have access to all documents because he began his term of office in August 2022, and the procedure The purchase process has been going on since spring this year,” explained the spokeswoman.
She added that the impulse to re-check the full documentation was a question on this matter sent by “Gazeta Wyborcza”, which was the first to write about the dismissal of director Musiał.

The spokeswoman added that Director Kamiński did not agree to purchase the tableware from the facility's budget from the beginning, but funding was obtained from the KGHM Foundation. The tableware cost PLN 35,000. PLN and it was bought from a person with family ties to the director of MPT.
“When all the documentation on this matter, which was scattered, was collected, it turned out that director Kamiński did not have full knowledge and was misled. There was also information in the documentation that proves this. Therefore, he decided to terminate the contract with Ms. director,” said the spokeswoman.
