Wrocław police officers seized drugs worth PLN 4.5 million hidden in garages, houses and cars and detained two people associated with the hooligan community. One of the men was primarily involved in the distribution of liquid amphetamine, as well as methamphetamine and marijuana to Wrocław and the surrounding area. More arrests are possible.
The value of drugs seized by Wrocław policemen is PLN 4.5 million, said senior officer Łukasz Porębski from the Lower Silesian police on Wednesday. Officers from several departments were involved in dismantling the group. They carried out the operation at the beginning of October, but police representatives announced it only on Wednesday.
They are associated with hooligans
The officers reported that they had caught one of the members of a criminal group red-handed. He was mainly involved in the distribution of liquid amphetamine to Wrocław and the surrounding area. Powder was produced from it. He also introduced other drugs into circulation, such as methamphetamine and marijuana, Porębski said.
The detained person is associated with the hooligan community. A second man was also arrested in the case. The drugs were stored in several places, including: garages, single-family houses and cars.
The officers seized over 26 liters of liquid amphetamine. At least 130 kg of amphetamine sulphate could be obtained from it. They also found methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as sulfuric acid, a precursor to the production of amphetamine.
Will there be further arrests?
“Investigators confirmed that the free market retail value of the seized drugs is approximately PLN 4.5 million,” said Senior Asp. Łukasz Porębski.
The matter is of a developing nature. Both detainees were charged with possessing a significant amount of drugs. They will spend the next few months in custody. They face one to 10 years in prison.
However, it is possible that the prosecutor's office will decide to expand the charges to include drug distribution during the proceedings. It is also a crime punishable by one to 10 years in prison.
The investigation into this case is being conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office for Wrocław Fabryczna.
