A 21-year-old motorcyclist died after colliding with a tractor in Zagródka (Lubelskie). As the police determined, the young man did not have a driving license, and the tractor driver drove onto the road despite an active ban on driving motor vehicles.
The police received a report of a collision between a motorcyclist and a farm tractor in Zagródki in the Biłgoraj district in the Lublin region on Wednesday (31 July) after 7 p.m.
Police officers dispatched to the scene initially determined that the accident occurred when the 64-year-old driver of an Ursus tractor was driving along provincial road number 863.
“As a result of the collision of the vehicles, the tractor was cut in half. The 64-year-old resident of the Potok Górny commune, who was driving the Ursus, did not sustain any serious injuries. Unfortunately, the 21-year-old resident of the Kuryłówka commune, who was driving the motorcycle, died despite resuscitation efforts conducted on site,” said Joanna Klimek, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Biłgoraj.
As the police determined, the 64-year-old was sober, but had an active ban on driving any motor vehicles. The 21-year-old, on the other hand, did not have a license to drive a motorcycle.
By decision of the prosecutor, the 21-year-old's body was secured for autopsy.
The exact causes and circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police under the supervision of the prosecutor.
