A two-year-old boy died under the wheels of a truck near Ostrołęka (Mazowieckie). The incident occurred when the driver, who had arrived with animal feed, was maneuvering in the yard.
The tragedy occurred on Wednesday around 11 a.m. in the town of Zdunek. – As we have established, an Iveco truck driver brought animal feed to one of the properties. While maneuvering in the yard, the child fell under the wheels of the car – says Elżbieta Łukasiewicz, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrołęka.
How did the tragedy happen? – The Iveco driver, after a short conversation with his father, started the car and felt a jolt under the right wheel. He stopped the car and it turned out that the child had been run over. He was lying on his back, between the front and rear wheels of the vehicle. He had head injuries – he adds.
They are questioning witnesses and planning an autopsy.
The driver, as determined by the services, was sober. He was taken for a blood test to determine whether he was under the influence of drugs. Both parents were sober.
The police and prosecutor's office are working at the scene. – The child's body is being examined by a doctor, as well as the scene of the incident. After the external examination, the boy's body will be secured for an autopsy. We are questioning witnesses and securing the Iveco for further tests – described prosecutor Łukasiewicz.
