The SUV driver, who hit a 13-year-old on lanes in Żelechów (Masovian Voivodeship) in the summer, heard the charge. The man will be responsible for causing a fatal accident. The girl died shortly after transporting her to the hospital.
A tragic accident occurred at the end of August last year in Żelechów. At the intersection of Długa and Piłsudskiego streets, the Range Rover driver hit a 13-year-old. The girl crossed the road at a marked pedestrian crossing, a few hundred meters from the house. She died two hours after transporting to the hospital.
Expert opinion, allegation
Investigators initially questioned a 25-year-old driver as a witness. They secured the car and monitoring, gathered the testimonies of other witnesses. After a few months, they came to the conclusion that a resident of the Łuków poviat caused an accident.
– An opinion in the field of road traffic was obtained, which allowed the man's accusation to the man – says the District Prosecutor in Garwolin Leszek Wójcik. As he informs, the Range Rover driver is suspected of causing a fatal accident. This is an act from Article 177 Paragraph 2 of the Penal Code.
Up to eight years in prison
The man heard the charge at the end of December. No preventive measures were applied to him. He faces a penalty from half a year to eight years in prison. – At the moment, the case files have been re -transferred to the expert to respond to the content of the explanations submitted by the suspect – emphasizes prosecutor Wójcik.
Within a few weeks, the investigation should end with an indictment to the court.
