Zgierz. He attacked a foreign man with a knife. Police: He was wrong, he wanted to kill a relative

Policemen from Zgierz (Łódź Voivodeship) detained a 28-year-old who tried to kill his relative. According to the uniform, he made a mistake and stabbed a foreign man with a knife. The 28-year-old was arrested. He is threatened with life imprisonment.

The incident occurred on Thursday (May 15) in one of the apartments on the outskirts of Zgierz. The police received a report about a wounded man. When the officers arrived, they found a 38-year-old, whose loved ones had already helped.

– The victim told the police that someone began to reach the door of his apartment, and when he opened it, an unknown man inflicted two blows with a sharp tool. The victim, seeking help, escaped to his friends – said staff sergeant Bartłomiej Arcimowicz, press officer of the Poviat Police Headquarters in Zgierz. And he added: – Medics were called in, who took the man to the hospital.

He wanted to hurt another person

The uniforms began to search for the perpetrator. After arrest, it turned out that he was a 28-year-old resident of the Zgierz poviat.

– The injured man was not the target object of the attack. The perpetrator wanted to hurt a completely different person, his relative who had lived in the house where dramatic events took place – explained the policeman.

The 28-year-old heard the allegation of attempted murder. At the request of the prosecutor, the court applied to the suspect arrest for three months. He faces a life imprisonment.
