On the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence, celebrations related to it are taking place in Polish cities. In Wrocław, the anthem of both countries was sung and the Ukrainian flag was unfurled. In Poznań, preparations are underway for a march, which will end with a friendly picnic on the Warta River.
Independence Day Ukraine was established on August 24, 1991 by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It is a symbolic date of the restoration of sovereignty to this country and the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine. It has been celebrated since 1992.
On the Wroclaw market square on Saturday afternoon, the anthems of Ukraine and Poland were sung on this occasion. Ukrainians celebrated the 33rd anniversary of Ukraine's independence by unfurling a long flag of their country. In the morning, a liturgy was held in the Greek Catholic cathedral, from where the solidarity march started and reached the Main Square.
