Widzew Before leaving for Katowice, Łódź won only one of the last four matches. The hosts of Friday's match have been playing inconsistently lately. On the one hand, they won against Jagiellonia± Bia³ystok (3:1), and on the other hand they lost to the colorless Zagłębie Lubin (0:1).

What emotions in Katowice. GKS made up for the losses

The first few minutes of the match showed that the Łódź team wanted to collect three points that evening. Samuel Kozlovsky took a shot with his left foot, but the ball missed the goalpost guarded by Kudła. In the 13th minute, the visitors' action brought the desired effect.

Hilary Gong crossed the ball from the right wing. The ball brushed Lukas Klemenz on its way and fell into the penalty area. There, Imad Rondić got ahead of the home team's goalkeeper and gave Widzew the lead. It was the third goal of the season for the in-form Bosnian.

GKS, however, did not intend to give up and managed to respond to the Łódź team's goal before the break. In the 38th minute match the hosts, like Tomasz Tułacz's Puszcza Niepołomice, decided to take an offensive approach to the throw-in. Oskar Repka reached the ball in the penalty area and scored from close range to beat Rafał Gikiewicz.

These were intense minutes at Bukowa. Widzew could have responded with a beautiful shot by Sebastian Kerk, but the ball flying into the goal corner was deflected by Kudła.

Just two minutes later we were back in front of the Łódź penalty area. This time the action was carried out by the duo Adrian Błąd – Marcin Wasielewski. The latter easily outplayed Hilary Gong and slotted the ball into the net.

After the break, Katowice players should have increased their score. However, Grzegorz Rogala spoiled the counterattack with an unsuccessful shot. However, the decisive action of the match took place in the added time of the second half. The ball was taken by substitute Jakub Łukowski just before the penalty area and he beat Kudła with a beautiful shot.

The next matches for both teams are in a week. On September 21, Widzew will play at home against Piast, and on the same day, GKS Katowice will play away against Górnik Zabrze.
