The Nysa Bystrzycka River has begun to flood. Among those at risk are the residents of Bystrzyca Kłodzka (Lower Silesian Voivodeship). The mayor of the city, Renata Surma, announced that the residents of Międzygórze have the last chance to evacuate. The situation there is exceptionally difficult.

– It's worse, it's higher, the water, not two meters, not a meter, but it's a noticeable increase in the water level – reported TVN24 reporter Paweł Łukasik on the night from Saturday to Sunday. – The dam from Międzygórze is a dozen or so kilometers from here – he said.

“Attention! Critical situation”

“Attention! Critical situation at the Międzygórze reservoirs on Wilczka and Stronie Śląskie on Morawa due to the rapid influx of water. The water level has exceeded the critical level at both and the water is overflowing through surface overflows. Residents of lower-lying towns are being evacuated,” reads the announcement of the Regional Water Management Board in Wrocław (Polish Waters) published on the X platform.

Earlier, Paweł Łukasik reported on the situation in Bystrzyca Kłodzka. In a conversation with a journalist, the mayor of the city, Renata Surma, said that “she has just received information that water is overflowing under the crown of the dam, so the situation is becoming very difficult, dramatic”. – We suspect that in Bystrzyca Kłodzka this wave will appear in an hour or two – she said.

As reported on Saturday by the portal rmf24.pl, the Nysa Bystrzycka River began to flood and the mayor decided to close the entrances to the city.

Renata Surma, the mayor of Bystrzyca Kłodzka, informed on social media about the shutdown of the sewage treatment plant. -“Please use water sparingly,” we read in the post.

Earlier, the mayor warned the residents of the village of Międzygórze that the dam there was about to overflow.

“Last chance to evacuate. Let's hold on,” Surma wrote around 9 p.m.
