Police officers patrolling the area around Zakroczym (Mazowieckie) noticed a 38-year-old man they knew well. The man was serving a seven-month prison sentence. But he didn't like the time he spent, so when he saw a police car, he jumped into a pond. The cunning plan had one weak point – after a short time, he had to resurface.
On Tuesday after 2 p.m., police officers from the Zakorczyca police station noticed a wanted 38-year-old man in the town of Mochty-Smok.
– The man, wanting to avoid meeting the police at all costs, first started to run away, then jumped into a nearby pond and submerged himself under the water surface – reports Joanna Wielocha from the District Police Headquarters in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. – Unfortunately, this solution turned out to be disastrous, because every dozen or so seconds he had to surface to take a breath of air. The officers convinced the 38-year-old to give up his idea of further hiding and voluntarily left the water. Soon he was wanted by the Zakroczym patrol officers – she describes.
A resident of the Zakroczym commune was wanted on the basis of a judgment of the District Court in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, to serve a seven-month prison sentence for failure to pay alimony. And there he was taken.
