Driving test fees in the Silesian Voivodeship will increase from November 1, 2024. In the case of passenger cars (category B) from PLN 200 to PLN 222.
The resolution on this matter was adopted on Monday by the Silesian Regional Assembly. It was supported by 25 of the 39 councilors present in the session hall.
Exam prices increase
The price of the theoretical exam will therefore increase from PLN 50 to PLN 55. The price of exams for categories A, A1, A2, AM, B, B1, B96 and T from PLN 200 to PLN 222. The price of exams for categories C, D, B+E, C+E from PLN 250 to PLN 278.
The justification for the resolution indicated that the increase in exam prices takes into account the average annual consumer price index of the Central Statistical Office. In 2023, compared to 2022, it amounted to 111.4 percent. Hence the increase of approximately 11.4 percent.
“The transport sector and services related to driving license exams operate in conditions of rising operating costs, which result not only from inflation, but also from rising prices of energy, fuel, consumables and services,” it was written in the justification of the resolution.
The Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, Wojciech Saługa, assessed that this was “adjusting prices to realities”.
Changes in regulations
The current fees for driving tests were introduced at the beginning of 2023. At that time, provincial governments were obliged to set the rates through changes to the Road Traffic Law and the Act on Vehicle Drivers. Previously, this was the responsibility of the relevant ministry. In 2013-2023, the theoretical exam cost PLN 30. Passenger car driving exams cost PLN 140.
