“During the entire season, Motor lost only three matches and confirmed their dominance on Polish tracks. On their home track in the final, of course, they were great favorites and, according to many experts, only a catastrophe could have deprived them of the gold” – wrote Kacper Ciuksza from Sport.pl. “Motor's third title in a row gives ownership of the PGE Ekstraliga trophy to the hosts,” writes the official league website in the summary of the final clash in Lublin.

It turns out that one of Motor Lublin's competitors made history after this year's final.

What a feat for a Motor Lublin player. He overtook Tomasz Gollob

This is Dominik Kubera, who won his eighth Polish Championship title. In this way, the 25-year-old surpassed Tomasz Gollob and Edward Jancarz, which gave him ninth place in the all-time rankings. Piotr Protasiewicz won the same number of championships as Kubera in the years 1995-2016 and Janusz Ko³odziej in the years 2004-2020. Kubera won five gold medals in Unia Leszno (2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) and three in Motor Lublin (2022, 2023, 2024).

Kubera, however, is not the most successful speedway rider in the history of the Polish speedway championships. The leader of the historical ranking is Stanis³aw Tkocz with 11 gold medals. Before Kubera there are also Joachim Maj, Karol Peszke (10 each), Jaros³aw Hampel, Andrzej Wyglenda and Antoni Woryna (9 each).

Kubera is a multiple medalist of the European and World Junior Championships, and in 2023, with the Polish national team, he won the gold medal of the World and European Championships in the team competition. In 2024, Kubera received a wild card to compete in the Speedway Grand Prix and took eighth place in the general classification with 98 points.
