The court decided on a three-month detention for the father of a six-week-old baby. A resident of Białystok is suspected of injuring his six-week-old son. The police were notified by the hospital where the infant was admitted with a broken leg. Investigators are determining whether it was an accident or the result of violence.
The Białystok-Południe District Prosecutor's Office is dealing with the case of an infant who was taken to the University Children's Clinical Hospital with a leg injury. After examination, doctors assessed that the circumstances of the injury may indicate that it was not an accident.
Therefore, the officers detained the father of this child. Due to the nature of the case, the prosecutor's office does not provide detailed information, including whether the man confessed or whether, and if so, what explanations he gave. The request for arrest was motivated, among others, by: fear of fraud.
They check whether there was any violence at home
The head of the Białystok-Południe District Prosecutor's Office, Marek Winnicki, said that the investigation is at an initial stage. – During the proceedings, other behaviors of the suspect will be verified, in particular whether there was any abuse or any other illegal behavior towards the child or other family members – he added.
