Broken trees, blocked roads. Dozens of interventions

All Saints' Day is marked by windy weather. The wind is particularly strong in northern Poland. Fallen trees block the roads, firefighters intervene.

As reported after 6 p.m. by the officer on duty at the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Olsztynfirefighters from the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship have been working for several hours to remove the effects of strong wind. Interventions concern mainly broken branches and fallen trees. Firefighters remove them from the roads. Over 30 windfalls of this type have already been removed, and further reports are pending. In total, there are about 50 such reports.

The fire brigade officer emphasized that no one was injured, and so far none of the storms have damaged buildings or cars.

Due to strong winds on Friday morning, firefighters also carried out several dozen interventions in the Pomeranian Voivodeship. Their activities mainly consisted of removing fallen trees and branches from roads and sidewalks.

Because of the strong wind The Roads and Green Areas Authority in Gdańsk advises against visiting cemeteriesespecially in those parts where tall trees grow. The collection for the local hospice, which was to be held at the Gdańsk necropolises, was also canceled. The wind also caused the closure of the Gdańsk zoo.
