Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska, a journalist from “Fakty” TVN, talked to them about it.

Jolanta Romiszewski moved to the United States during martial law. She is convinced that Donald Trump is the best candidate in the upcoming presidential elections. Her daughter Natalia Romiszewski, who has lived in Pennsylvania since birth, has a different opinion. He accuses the Republican candidate of, among other things, lack of respect for women and immigrants.

– I have a good view of the world and I know that Donald Trump is a bad choice – says Natalia in an interview with “Fakty” TVN journalist Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska. She adds that for her, what is at stake in these elections are primarily women's rights, democracy and compliance with the constitution.

When asked about the stakes of these elections, Jolanta draws attention to economic issues. – We had eight years of Obama, then four years of Biden. Inflation it's huge. Prices are rising. Nothing is getting better. I think we should look at other candidates, other options. I think Republicans have a chance. I hope they will offer something better, he says.

– The Harris campaign is operating on only one issue, abortion, which is absolutely important. We all want women to have the right to decide for themselves, but this is not the only most important issue – says Jolanta.

Her daughter does not agree with this opinion, according to which the economy is also important to Kamala Harris. – Kamala does not only focus on abortion, she wants to reduce inflation – she emphasizes. He also adds that Donald Trump's position on immigration (he announces mass deportations) may result in an increase in prices, among others. due to the high level of employment of foreigners in the agricultural sector.

– Most of the people who worked for him don't support him. They say he is a fascist. It is incomprehensible to me that people can support him, says Natalia about Trump.

When asked about his attitude towards… Vladimir Putin Natalia believes that the Russian president “cannot be trusted.” – Russia This is not a country I would like to live in, she adds.

In turn, her mother sees Trump's attitude as an opportunity to resolve conflicts. – Maybe this will help us, maybe something will change. Maybe someone who doesn't alienate other leaders will be helpful. It's terrifying what's happening. There are so many conflicts in the world, he says.

“The atmosphere is tense sometimes”

Natalia admits that her parents' support for Donald Trump is sad and incomprehensible to her. – I'm sad because I come from a family that has always fought on the right side of history – he emphasizes.

Her mother, however, assures that despite their differences in views, their family is their priority. – Trump is not a perfect candidate, but he is the only candidate I can vote for. The atmosphere is sometimes tense, but family stability is the most important thing to us. Of course, I respect that my daughter is so emotionally involved in politics, because it would be worse if she were blasé. We somehow like it, he says.
