– There is a clear provision in the constitution that everyone is equal before the law, including Zbigniew Ziobro. That is why we have decided that we will apply for the first time in history to detain and bring a witness before the investigative commission, said Magdalena Sroka, head of the Pegasus commission, in “Kropka nad i”. A member of this body, Tomasz Trela, said that “if Zbigniew Ziobro had nothing on his conscience, he would have appeared before the commission.”
Chairwoman of the parliamentary investigative committee on Pegasus, Magdalena Sroka (PSL) and a member of this committee, MP Tomasz Trela (New Left) spoke in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 about the Monday meeting of this body, which for the fourth time tried to question Zbigniew Ziobro. However, the former Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General did not appear, so the MPs voted on the motions to: impose a penalty for failure to appear; arrest and bringing before the commission; initiation of the procedure to waive Ziobro's immunity.
Commenting on Ziobro's behavior, the head of the commission said on TVN24: – Did he win anything this way? I don't think so.
According to Sroka, “Zbigniew Ziobro still thinks he rules and can do anything.” – Well, Minister, that is not the case. The time when you ruled is over, and today the moment of reckoning has come and everyone who receives a summons to the commission is obliged to appear. There are no equals or more equals, she said.
– There is a clear provision in the constitution that everyone is equal before the law, including Zbigniew Ziobro. That's why we decided to apply for the first time in history to arrest and bring the witness before the investigative commission, she emphasized.
She estimated that “ultimately he will be brought to justice.”
“If Zbigniew Ziobro had nothing on his conscience, he would come before the commission”
MP Trela said that the lifting of Ziobro's immunity “is probably really a formality.” – The immunity will be revoked, and if the court agrees, Zbigniew Ziobro will be detained and forcibly brought in, and he will have to testify – he added.
He said that “it is no secret that if Zbigniew Ziobro had nothing on his conscience, he would come before the commission and say what he has to say.” – We would ask questions, he would answer these questions – he added.
“The next ones to be interrogated will be Wąsik and Kamiński”
Trela also said that “we can probably say it today very definitely, unequivocally: the next people to be questioned at the right moment, and soon, will be Messrs. (Maciej) Wąsik and (Mariusz) Kamiński.”
– Because they were the ones who actually directly directed the illegal use of the illegal Pegasus. And we'll see what they have to say. Unless, in Mr. Ziobro's way, they also want to be detained and brought forcibly – he added. As the Left MP argued, “they really won't get away with it.” – If they play for time and buy a week, two weeks, a month, two months, that's the maximum they can do in this matter. There are documents, the documents clearly show that the purchase of Pegasus was inconsistent with the law – emphasized Trela, adding that “Ziobro signed some documents and he knows it perfectly well.”
Sroka: Kaczyński said some important things. They will serve as the basis for notifications
Magdalena Sroka also returned to questioning the president PIS before the committee. – Jarosław Kaczyński he said several very important things that will be very visible when compared with the testimonies of other witnesses in our final report and will serve as the basis for submitting reports to the prosecutor's office, she said.
When asked what these words were, she replied that “Jarosław Kaczyński, for example, said very clearly that when the Homeland Defense Act was introduced, this act changed the issues regarding accreditation, and he knew it perfectly well.”
– What does it mean? This means that in 2020 it was decided to change the regulations under which the Pegasus system should be accredited and checked by Polish services – she pointed out. In her opinion, “it means that they were perfectly aware of where they committed crimes and where they exceeded their powers.” – And all these testimonies collected together will give us a solid and powerful report, which will also be used to report the possibility of committing a crime – emphasized the head of the investigative commission for Pegasus.
“Words that should not be uttered by a serious politician”
The guests of “Kropka nad i” also commented on the words of the head of the PiS club Mariusz Błaszczakwho stated on Sunday evening on Polsat News that “Donald Tusk and his team bet on Kamala Harris, so After Donald Trump's victory, Donald Tusk should resign“.
The magpie asked: – What if he wins? Kamala Harristhen the president (Andrzej) Duda Will he resign and resign from the presidency? Or during the last election when he won Joe Bidenthe PiS government resigned?
According to her, “these are obviously words that should not come from the mouth of a serious politician.” – But if former Minister of National Defense Mariusz Błaszczak wants to enter into such a narrative, it only proves that they have little to say when it comes to foreign policy today. And the only thing they focus on is hate, she added.
Trela argued that “the only advice for Mr. Błaszczak is to take something heavy, hit his head and sober up.” – Because what he said is so stupid (that) it's hard to even relate to it. It is frivolous, stupid and inappropriate for the former head of the Ministry of National Defense, no matter what he was, to say such stupid things – he added.
– We, as a coalition, will respect the choice of the citizens of the United States on October 15. We will cooperate with any administration and every citizen of our country knows this. Because the interest of Poland, the interest of the European Union and cooperation for the good of our citizens and our homeland are above all, emphasized Trela.
