It has long been known that the outcome of the presidential election will be decided by swing states. What are the emotions there? Many voters who spoke in front of the “Fakty” TVN camera, regardless of their views, emphasize that this is not only a race for the White House, but a celebration of democracy.

For Jane Galaktiadis, Election Day is a holiday. – Tonight we will have a new president – says a woman who co-owns the White House restaurant in Atlanta. The owner of the place is her uncle, a Greek by birth and a Donald Trump voter. – I have Kamala Harris in my heart. I also vote for her because of her policy towards immigrants, admits the woman.

Jane, like many women in Georgia, has been betting on the Democratic candidate from the beginning because women's rights issues are key for her. – Women want to have the right to choose, regardless of the reason – she emphasizes.

The “Fakty” TVN team also talked to the owner of the house in Georgia where the Harris-Waltz billboard is located. – I'm very proud of it. I think we're just doing our job. We illuminate it at night, we are not ashamed of it. We want everyone to see it, says Jim Anastos.

Americans believe that this year's elections are extremely important

Elena, Alexander and Alfred are proud of voting for Donald Trump. Each of them came to the United States as an immigrant. From Romania, India and Cuba, respectively. We talked to them in line for another rally for J.D. Vance, the vice presidential candidate.

– He supports our values. We are Christians and we are pro-life, emphasizes Elena Marteniuc. – Just compare the four years he was president to the last four years. The economic situation was good, says Alfred Ledon. – We saw this in 2016-2020, when we had better fuel prices, better prices in stores and better national security – says Aleksander Shajan.

Supporters of the Democratic candidate claim that Trump's good image as a business man and the good economic situation in the country is only the result of propaganda. In their opinion, proof of this is how Donald Trump's administration failed to deal with the effects of the pandemic. – These elections are about politicians, but they are also simply about the future of our democracy. About whether we will be a country of the people for the people, or whether we will be ruled by a man who wants to be a tyrant – says Jim Anastos.

For the last three weeks, the “Fakty” TVN team has been meeting with voters in three swing states, those with the highest number of electoral votes. These were Georgia, South Carolina and Pennsylvania. Everyone, regardless of their views, told us that these were historic elections for them.
