Donald Trump won the election and will be the 47th president of the United States. In Germany, the ruling coalition collapsed. The Sejm debated a project regarding the decriminalization of abortion assistance. Here are five things to know on Thursday, November 7.

1. Donald Trump wins the US presidential election

Donald Trump will be the 47th President of the United States – CNN reported. According to the American station's projection, the Republican candidate has gained support that will provide him with a sufficient number of electoral votes.

According to polls CNN, the Republican candidate won five of the seven key states that decide the outcome of the vote. Results from two states are still unknown: Arizona (11) and Nevada (6).

2. The collapse of the coalition in Germany

Chancellor German Olaf Scholz dismissed Finance Minister Christian Lindner. The Politico website wrote that the ruling coalition, which consisted of three parties, had just collapsed.

The head of the German government said that in mid-January he would ask the parliament for a vote of confidence, which in turn could lead to early elections in March.

3. The Sejm is debating the decriminalization of abortion

The first reading of another project regarding the decriminalization of abortion assistance took place in the Sejm. An earlier project on this matter was rejected in July.

– This is a very conservative project, very much changed in relation to the initial proposal – argued the chairwoman of the Left Club, Anna Maria Å»ukowska. Karina Bosak from Konfederacja said it was a “radical left-wing project.” A motion was submitted to reject the project in its entirety, but the vote on it will take place on Friday, during the voting block.

4. Åšwirski punished for “gross violation of the law”

The Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw found that the chairman of the National Broadcasting Council, Maciej Åšwirski, was guilty of “inaction in transferring funds from license fees to the implementation of a public mission.”

The court stated that “the inaction occurred in gross violation of the law” and punished the chairman in both cases National Broadcasting Council fines of PLN 50,000 each and awarded sums of money to the complainants. Both judgments are invalid.

5. The issue of Barbara Kurdej-Szatan's entry comes back

The District Court in Warsaw will reconsider the case of actress Barbara Kurdej-Szatan, who is accused of defaming Border Guard officers.

The return of the case is the result of the decision of the Supreme Court, which accepted the complaint Zbigniew Ziobro. He submitted it when he was still the prosecutor general.
