On Friday, I will sign an order establishing an investigative team at the National Prosecutor's Office in the case of Antoni Macierewicz, said the Minister of Justice, Attorney General Adam Bodnar in a conversation with TVN24 reporter Radomir Wit.
– Tomorrow I will sign the order to establish an investigative team. This will be team number 4 operating in the National Prosecutor's Office. It will examine all the applications submitted by the committee previously appointed by Minister Tomczyk, said Bodnar.
The Minister of Justice and Attorney General talked about the possibility of establishing such a team in the case of Antoni Macierewicz last week.
Report on the Macierewicz subcommittee
It has been submitted to the National Prosecutor's Office 41 notifications regarding the Smolensk subcommittee24 of which concern Antoni Macierewicz and 10 the former Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak. This is the result of the work of the team that assessed the functioning of this subcommittee. At the end of October, the management of the Ministry of National Defense presented the conclusions of the nearly 800-page report prepared by the team.
Bodnar: the number of allegations is very serious
Bodnar referring to this matter last Wednesday in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24 he said that “the prosecutor's office already has a lot of work, because there is one proceeding conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, which concerns hiding evidence and failure to return evidence that was transferred to this Smolensk subcommittee.” – Despite many attempts, the prosecutor's office failed to recover this evidence – he added.
– And now we have over 40 new notifications that will be sent by the committee chaired by the minister. Cezary Tomczyk. I think that all this will necessitate the creation of a new investigative team in the prosecutor's office, he continued.
– I'm still thinking about it, I haven't made a final decision yet, but the enormity of these allegations is very serious – said Bodnar then.
