A 75-year-old man was walking along the A2 highway near Wola Szydłowiecka at night. He was hit by a bus driver and the pedestrian died on the spot.
The accident occurred on the night from Saturday to Sunday near the Mogyła MOP in the province. Łódź, near the town of Wola Szydłowiecka. This is a section of the route between the Skierniewice and Wiskitki junctions.
– On Sunday after 4, a man traveling on foot on the A2 motorway entered the road towards Warsaw, directly in front of a moving bus. As a result of the collision, he died on the spot. The incident took place 100-150 meters from the Mogyła Passenger Service Center – said the spokeswoman of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Skierniewice, Senior Sgt. Aneta Placek-Nowak.
It is not known under what circumstances the 75-year-old found himself on the highway. All details of the accident will be determined by an investigation conducted by the District Prosecutor's Office in Skierniewice.
The bus was driven by an Estonian citizen. Traffic at the accident site is now flowing normally.
