The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate has published a warning regarding wholemeal rye flour. “You should not consume the batch of product indicated in the message,” it was written. This is another similar announcement recently.
“As a result of the explanatory proceedings of the State Sanitary Inspectorate, it was established that the same batch of raw material from which whole-grain rye flour type 2000 was produced (covered by the public warning of November 6, 2024) also produced whole-grain rye flour type 720” – reported GIS in Wednesday's announcement.
As reported by GIS, the manufacturer of Radix-Bis decided to withdraw a specific batch of wholemeal rye flour type 720 as potentially contaminated with ochratoxin A. It was explained that ochratoxin A is a toxin produced by fungi of the Aspergillus and Penicillium species, which has a harmful effect on human health.

GIS reported that the manufacturer agreed to inform customers about the situation and withdraw the product. Moreover, he assured that the authorities of the State Sanitary Inspectorate cooperate with the entity and monitor the process of withdrawing the questioned batch of the product.
“You should not consume the batch of product indicated in the announcement,” it appealed.
Flour withdrawn from stores
At the beginning of November, GIS reported that the level of ochratoxin A was exceeded in whole-grain rye flour type 2000, net weight 900 g from the same manufacturer, batch number: 11/12/2024 and expiration date: 11/12/2024.

After a few days, for the same reasons, it also issued an alert regarding the product Szczepanki Rye Flour type 720, net weight 1 kg, batch number: 21/12/2024 10:30:30 C/L1, shelf life: 21/12/2024 , manufacturer: Młyny Szczepanki Sp. z o. o., Szczepanki 3, 86-320 Łasin.

Earlier, in October, GIS also issued the following announcement regarding the product: Gdańskie Młyny – Rye flour type 720 bread, 1 kg, with batch numbers subject to withdrawal: 31485/24, 31492/24, 31495/24.
