The President of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, was charged with providing a financial benefit to the former rector of Collegium Humanum for obtaining a diploma from this university, as well as using this illegally obtained document and thus extorting PLN 230,000. The prosecutor's office applied preventive measures against him.
The head of the Silesian department of the National Prosecutor's Office, Tomasz Tadla, announced that Jacek Sutryk “is accused of providing financial benefits to the former rector of Collegium Humanum.” This is about a bribe that Sutryk allegedly gave in exchange for receiving an MBA postgraduate diploma, even though he did not complete these studies.
As the head of the prosecutor's office adds, after obtaining the diploma, the mayor of Wrocław was to use it in several local government entities. – On this basis, knowing that it is a necessary document to sit on supervisory boards, he extorted a total of over PLN 230,000 – he said.
Detentions in connection with the Collegium Humanum case
He confirmed that in recent days, four people had been detained in the Collegium Humanum case in connection with illegally obtaining diplomas from these studies, which also involved acts of corruption.
The National Prosecutor's Office submitted arrest applications to the court against two suspects – the former vice-rector of Collegium Humanum and his wife, and applied preventive measures against two others – Sutryk and Marian D. In Sutryk's case, it is a PLN 200,000 bail and police supervision, combined with a ban on contacting other participants in the proceedings.
