Płock. They shared photos of child sexual abuse. They want to submit to punishment

The investigation was conducted by the Płock district prosecutor's office following a notification sent by the Central Office for Combating Cybercrime in Katowice.

The spokeswoman for the Płock District Court, Judge Iwona Wiśniewska-Bartoszewska, announced that the indictment against a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old for acts under Art. 202 of the Penal Code was submitted to the local District Court on October 31, and the case was registered in the category of urgent cases due to the fact that it concerns crimes against sexual freedom and decency.

Together with the indictment, as Judge Wiśniewska-Bartoszewska reported, an application was submitted by the district prosecutor in Płock under Art. 335 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for a consensual conviction (voluntary submission to punishment), agreed with the prosecutor as to both defendants. It is about limiting freedom and the obligation to perform unpaid, supervised work for 30 hours a month for social purposes.

The application, which is to be considered without a hearing at a court session, states that in the case of one of the suspects, the combined penalty of restriction of liberty and the obligation to perform community service would cover a period of one year and one month, and in the case of the other, one year.

The court may reject the application, then the trial will continue as normal.

According to the indictment, in the second half of November 2022, one of the defendants, using a cloud-based instant messenger, imported and stored pornographic photos and videos depicting sexual abuse of minors and provided unknown persons with an access link to a directory containing such content.

In the case of the second suspect, the investigation findings indicate that at the same time he created a catalog with similar materials on the Internet, and also shared the link to this catalog with unknown persons.

Earlier, the police reported that in this case, a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old were detained as a result of “extensive operational activities”. According to reports, the younger man is a resident of the Łódź Voivodeship, the older one – from Płock. It was determined that logging in to the virtual disk on a server in New Zealand took place in this city.
