The decision on when the primary elections in the Civic Coalition will be held will be made today, announced the deputy speaker of the Sejm Dorota Niedziela, chairwoman of the committee responsible for their preparation and implementation, on Friday morning. During the meeting of its members, the regulations and rules for voting are to be established – most likely via text messages.
The mayor of Warsaw, the deputy head of PO Rafał Trzaskowski and the minister of foreign affairs Radosław Sikorski will compete in the primary elections in the Civic Coalition. Last Saturday, the leader of PO, the Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the primary elections will be held electronically, probably on November 23. Members of the parties that make up the Civic Coalition: PO, Nowoczesna, Inicjatywa Polska and The Greens will take part in the vote.
The commission organizing the primaries is to adopt the regulations and establish voting rules on Friday, most likely via code-secured text messages. The commission will also decide on the final date of the primary elections – it will either confirm November 23 or accelerate the date.
Chairwoman of the committee Dorota Niedziela told journalists on Friday in the Sejm before the committee meeting that the final date depends on when the external company that will handle the voting will be ready. She said that the decision on the date of voting will be made today.
