State budget deficit. Ministry of Finance data after October

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Finance the budget deficit after October amounted to PLN 129.8 billioni.e. 70.5 percent. plan for 2024.

Income amounted to PLN 519.5 billion, or 76.1 percent. plan.

Expenses amounted to PLN 649.3 billion, or 74.9 percent. plan.

“In the period January – October 2024, state budget revenues amounted to approximately PLN 519.5 billion and were higher by approximately PLN 44.1 billion (i.e. 9.3%) compared to the same period last year (475 PLN 4 billion, i.e. 79.1% of the plan),” the ministry said.

Tax revenues of the state budget amounted to PLN 464.6 billion and were higher than in the period from January to October last year by approximately PLN 45.4 billion (i.e. 10.8%), including:

In turn, non-tax revenues amounted to PLN 53.6 billion and were lower by approximately PLN 0.8 billion compared to the period from January to October 2023.

This year's budget law predicts a deficit at the end of the year of PLN 184 billion, but the parliament is working on the amendment to the budget prepared by the government.

The act passed by the Sejm, which is awaiting adoption by the Senate, assumes that state revenues in 2024 will amount to PLN 626 billion (and not PLN 682.4 billion, as stated in the original budget act). Expenditures are to remain unchanged and amount to PLN 866.4 billion, while the budget deficit is not to exceed PLN 240.3 billion.
