The pedestrians were calmly walking along the sidewalk when suddenly a speeding car hit a tree. This incident took place on Monday in Międzyrzecz. The driver was not injured and refused a breathalyzer test.

“Fortunately, the tree turned out to be a barrier that stopped the vehicle and prevented a potential tragedy, protecting pedestrians nearby,” the police say.

After a while, passers-by ran to the wrecked car and called for help. It happened on Monday around 8:30 p.m.

The analysis will show the possible concentration of alcohol in the blood. – The tests were sent to specialists. It is known that general laboratory tests showed the alcohol content in the blood. The general symptoms of this man's behavior also proved this, adds Maksimczyk.

What threatens the driver?

An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing. – If it turns out that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, he will face up to three years in prison. Additionally, the court obligatorily imposes a driving ban for a period of not less than three years and a cash benefit of at least PLN 5,000 – said junior inspector.
