– The most important thing is resilience and hardness of character. We will show who is determined, who is tough and who will never give up – said Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw, who is running to be the Civic Coalition's candidate for president, at the meeting in Piaseczno.
The deputy head of PO and the mayor of Warsaw are competing in the presidential primaries in the Civic Coalition. Rafał Trzaskowski and the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. On Monday Civic Platform published the results “big survey” regarding the chances of Trzaskowski and Sikorski in the presidential elections. It shows that Trzaskowski would defeat the candidate PIS both in the first and second round, and Sikorski would have lost in the first round.
The primary elections are scheduled to take place on Friday, and the results are expected to be presented on Saturday.

Trzaskowski: we will show them who is determined
On Thursday, Trzaskowski met with the residents of Piaseczno.
– An important argument appeared in this pre-campaign, namely who is ready to cope in difficult times. I prefer a candidate who is prepared to lead at all times, but this argument has arisen and I will tell you that the most important thing is resilience and toughness of character – said the mayor of Warsaw.
– Sometimes it puzzles me a little, because commentators and journalists like to come up with new tests. “Will Trzaskowski be able to do it?”, “will he win the presidential elections in Warsaw?”, “will he definitely (win – editor) in the first round?”. Well, we won in the first round with a better result. Previously, they asked if I would be involved in 2023, if I would contribute to victory. We did it. Right now they're wondering if I'll make it in the primaries. I am determined and I am sure we will do it, he assured.
– We'll do it again. We will show them who is determined, who is tough and who will never give up, he added.
– Do you know why I'm calm? Not because I'm self-righteous, not because I like talking about myself, because I don't like talking about myself. It makes me feel a bit uncomfortable, but I have been emboldened. I am calm because I have been with you for many, many years, Trzaskowski told the audience.
