Orange Polska warns against SMS messages in which fraudsters impersonate this operator. The messages concern the alleged need to activate the account.

According to Orange Polska, “messages from fraudsters come from regular numbers.” Meanwhile – as added – SMS messages from Orange Polska come only from the sender “Orange” or “ORANGE”.

Sample messages

The content of the text messages detected by CERT Orange Polska and sent by criminals are:

“Your Orange account is waiting for activation. Follow the instructions to activate it and use our services again. Thank you! urlz[.]fr/t6c1″z (original writing – ed.)”.

“Your Orange account is ready for activation. Please follow the instructions to activate your account and use our services again. Thank you! urlz[.]fr/t4WD”.

Actions of fraudsters

“The domain used is a shortener, ultimately we went to the addresses hxxps://okhl[.]online and hxxps://redirpak[.]online. The further path looks identical to the campaign we described in April. To such an extent that – just like half a year ago – on the initial screen of the fake website, above the Orange logo, there is the inscription 'Login to Colorlib',” we read.

“In the next steps, you will be prompted to provide your Orange phone number and the SMS code sent to the provided number,” it said.

“You don't have to 'activate' or 'verify' your numbers. And to interact with your account, we recommend the 'My Orange' application. Then you don't have to pay attention to more or less suspicious SMS messages. You will receive all messages related to your account in the application” – we read.
