Czech police announced on Wednesday that national road number 10, connecting the towns of Tanvald with Harrachov and continuing to the border with Poland, will be closed to cars over 3.5 tons. The restrictions are related to the forecast of heavy snowfall.
Meteorologists warn that up to 30 centimeters of fresh snow may fall in parts of the Karkonosze Mountains. Alerts against this weather threat will be in force from Thursday from 12 noon to Friday until 12 noon. 18.

On an 18-kilometer stretch of road, one truck is enough to completely block traffic in both directions. Road signs will signal the closure of the route to Poland through the Karkonosze Mountains in advance. The police suggest that instead of road No. 10, truck drivers should use national road No. 35, leading to the Grodek nad Żary border crossing. Nysą (Hradek nad Nisou).
