Katarzyna Kotula, Minister for Equality, said in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 that the party's National Council will decide on December 15 who will be the candidate of the Left in the presidential elections.

The Left is the last major political party that has not yet announced its candidate in next year's presidential elections. – From the very beginning, the Left said that we would announce this candidate in December. And so it will be on December 15. This decision will be made by the party's National Council, said the Minister for Equality in “Fakty po Faktach”. Katarzyna Kotula.

– We will still talk about the results of the research that has been conducted and who will be the best candidate. We were researching specific people who could be candidates in these presidential elections, she added.

When asked about specific names, she did not want to reveal them. – I was one of the people interviewed (as a potential candidate – ed.), although I don't hide it and I also said it here, at your place – I would like to focus on what I do. The Department for Equal Treatment in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister is a huge challenge, she said.

Presidential elections 2025

The presidential elections will take place in May 2025. According to the announcement of the Speaker of the Sejm, the election campaign is to start in January. At this moment, the mayor of Warsaw and the KO candidate have expressed their willingness to run Rafał Trzaskowskipresident of the Institute of National Remembrance, candidate PIS Karol NawrockiSpeaker of the Sejm, one of the leaders of the Third Way Szymon Hołowniaco-chairman of the Confederation Sławomir Mentzen and MP Marek Jakubiak (near Wolnia Republicans).

President Andrzej Duda will end his term in August 2025.
