A young driver drifted on one of the streets in Radom. He was stopped by traffic police. He was fined and penalty points were added to his account. But these are not all the consequences that the 19-year-old suffered.
On Wednesday, a police officer from the Road Traffic Department of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Radom noticed an irresponsible driver on 11 Listopada Street.
The driver of the Subaru, entering traffic, caused the vehicle to skid and – according to the policeman – created a threat to road traffic. The officer stopped the car for inspection.
Fine and penalty points for drifting
– A police patrol arrived at the scene and checked both the 19-year-old driver and his vehicle in the police systems. For the offense committed, the young driver was fined PLN 5,000 and 10 penalty points. The officers also detained the vehicle's registration certificate because the car did not meet the technical requirements, said Justyna JaÅ›kiewicz from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Radom.
– We appeal to drivers, especially young ones, not to overestimate their driving skills. Caution behind the wheel is needed, especially in the current weather conditions, she warned.
Pursuant to Art. 86. par. 1 of the Code of Petty Offenses “Whoever on a public road, in a residential zone or a traffic zone, without exercising due caution, causes a threat to road safety, shall be subject to a fine.” Pursuant to Art. 60. 1.
