On Tuesday, December 17, councilors of the Masovian Voivodeship Assembly adopted the budget for next year. Revenues in the region will amount to PLN 6 billion and expenses – PLN 8 billion.

The region's authorities will allocate over PLN 3.3 billion for the modernization and expansion of roads, hospitals, cultural institutions and schools. Over PLN 846 million will be transferred to support municipalities, counties and non-governmental organizations under support programs, and PLN 982 million will be provided for subsidies for Koleje Mazowieckie and Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa.

Income will be lower than last year

According to the Marshal of Mazovia, Adam Struzik, the budget for 2025 looks very good.

– Although our income will be lower than last year (by PLN 700 million – editor), it will be the first budget without the so-called “Janosik”, which will allow us to allocate more money for investments, including in roads, hospitals, museums. or for our support programs. In total, the investments will account for over 35 percent of our budget, i.e. over PLN 3.3 billion, he added.

– The largest amount, over PLN 1.6 billion, will be allocated for the construction, expansion and modernization of provincial roads, and nearly PLN 534 million for the modernization and equipping of hospitals. Another group of expenses, amounting to as much as PLN 249 million, will be spent on investments in the area of ​​culture and national heritage, and over PLN 160 million – in educational institutions – estimated the chairman of the Masovian Voivodeship assembly, Ludwik Rakowski.

Marta Milewska, spokeswoman for the marshal's office, said that one of the largest road investments will be the expansion of provincial road No. 747 on the section from the intersection with national road No. 9 in Iłża to the intersection with national road No. 79 in Lipsk. Over PLN 136 million was allocated for it.

Health care and culture

In 2025, the authorities of Mazovia will allocate over PLN 855 million for tasks carried out in health care. Investments in health care facilities alone will cost PLN 534 million. The largest include: a building for the day rehabilitation wards of the Masovian Hospital in Garwolin, increasing the energy efficiency of buildings belonging to the Specialist Provincial Hospital in Ciechanów or modernization of the pediatric surgery department, surgery department I and II at the Provincial Hospital in Płock.

The voivodeship government will allocate over PLN 546 million for culture, including PLN 249 million for investments and ongoing maintenance of Masovian cultural institutions. This includes: Polish Theater in Warsaw or the “Mazowsze” group. Next year's budget also includes funds for the renovation of the Luna cinema in Warsaw.

Support programs

In 2025, the local government will continue most of the existing support programs, for which PLN 912 million was allocated in 2025. The largest pool of funds, nearly PLN 600 million, will be allocated for targeted subsidies for communes and poviats under the “Mazovia for even development” program. There will also be a new program “Mazowsze for energy communities”.

In total, 23 programs and tasks will be implemented in 2025. Additionally, in 2025, the authorities of Mazovia will allocate PLN 38 million for tasks arising from the Act on the protection of agricultural and forest land (access roads to fields, retention).

The Multiannual Financial Forecast until 2038 envisages the implementation of projects for a total amount of PLN 26.9 billion, including current projects – PLN 17.1 billion and property projects – PLN 9.8 billion. More than PLN 3.7 billion is planned to be allocated for provincial roads, PLN 14.9 billion for transport, PLN 1.4 billion for regional development, and almost PLN 2.2 billion for health care.
