He was supposed to fly to Georgia. During passport control, it turned out that he was being pursued, among other things, with an Interpol red notice. Officers from the Warsaw-Okęcie Border Guard Station detained a 36-year-old Georgian.
The Georgian citizen was detained on Wednesday, December 18, at Chopin Airport before the flight to Kutaisi.
Problems during passport control
– During the passport control, it turned out that he was listed in search databases for the purpose of arrest and surrender or extradition. The Georgian was wanted with an Interpol red notice and a European Arrest Warrant issued by the French justice system for organizing illegal migration and crimes against public order and security, says Dagmara Bielec, press officer of the Nadwiślański Border Guard Unit.

Arrested
After the arrest, the man was detained in the Rooms for Detained Persons at the Border Guard Post in Warsaw, from where he was transported to the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw for further proceedings in the case. He was taken into custody.
