Hungary granted international protection to Marcin Romanowski, who was wanted on an arrest warrant and a European Arrest Warrant. – We have often heard from PiS politicians that if someone has nothing on their conscience, they have nothing to be afraid of – pointed out KO MP Marta Golbik in “Tak jest”. – If there was a normal system, no one should be afraid to go to court. Unfortunately, this is not the case – replied PiS MP Patryk Wicher.

Attorney Bartosz Lewandowski, defense lawyer PiS MP said on Thursday that the government Hungarian took into account the application of MP Marcin Romanowski and granted him international protection. The case was commented on in “Tak jest” on TVN24 by Civic Coalition MP Marta Golbik and Law and Justice MP Patryk Wicher.

– Mr. Romanowski is giving a testimony to himself and the entire political environment here by applying for asylum from Orban, a friend of Putin, and escaping from responsibility for his actions – commented Golbik. She also noted that “we have often heard from PiS politicians that if someone has nothing on their conscience, they have nothing to fear.”

Wicher, in turn, said: – If there was a normal system, we would be sure that this system is actually fair, then no one should be afraid to go to court. He said that “unfortunately, this is not the case.” The PiS MP also said that the court “admitted three times that Mr. Romanowski was wrongly detained the first time.”

Deputy Minister of Interior and Administration: it was a prepared escape

Later in the program, Andrzej Morozowski's guests were the Deputy Minister of Interior and Administration from the Left, Wiesław Szczepański, and Grzegorz Cieślak, an expert in prevention and anti-terrorism prevention at the Center for Research on Social and Economic Risks of Collegium Civitas, who also commented on Romanowski's case.

– We are aware that it will be difficult to stop Mr. Romanowski on Hungarian territory – admitted the deputy minister. He added that we should now ask the European Commission “to force Hungary to extradite this person.” – European Commission may go to the Court of Justice of the European Union, which will be able to impose a penalty on Hungary for failing to comply with the rule of law, he explained.

SzczepaÅ„ski stated that if Marcin Romanowski “turns off his cell phones on December 6, takes out the cards, quietly leaves the hospital (…), then, completely healthy, most likely gets into a car and moves to Hungary, it means he is not sick.” – It was a prepared escape from criminal responsibility and from what he would have to say before the justice system – said the deputy minister.

When asked why the Polish services allowed the former deputy minister of justice to leave Poland, Grzegorz CieÅ›lak replied that “as long as this person is not banned from leaving the country, the services really have nothing to do around him” – This would be an abuse of our side – he noted.

– Guarding the border to prevent this person from approaching it would be more like a military action than one related to the letter of the law – explained CieÅ›lak.
