Someone stole a tuba from young musicians from the youth brass band in Świekatów (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). “Lost” was found under a monument in Bydgoszcz. She was lying wrapped in a jacket and a garbage bag.
On Sunday (December 22), information about a tuba stolen from one of the musicians appeared on the social media profile of the youth brass band in Świekatowo.
“Unfortunately, we had to share with you a very unpleasant surprise that happened to us before this year's Christmas – one of us was left without an instrument due to theft. This instrument is an Amati Bb tuba with a case, which belongs to the Youth Brass Band of the Volunteer Fire Department in Świekatowo – however, it was the instrument of one of the members of our orchestra for many years,” we read in the entry.
The tube was found
The loss was found. The orchestra conductor was informed that the instrument had been abandoned. The information appeared on one of the websites.
– The conductor immediately contacted the police about this matter. The officers, together with the owner of the tube, went to Tadeusz Nowakowski Square in Bydgoszcz, where they noticed an object wrapped in a jacket and a garbage bag under the monument. After unpacking, it turned out to be the tube stolen on the night of December 11-12. The policemen, together with the man and the secured instrument, went to the police station to complete all formalities, said Krzysztof Bratz, an aspirant from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Bydgoszcz.
The instrument was returned to the owner, who, in order to check whether it was damaged, played a Christmas carol on it.
