The act obliging developers to inform about the prices of apartments on the Internet was adopted by the Sejm. In the event of failure to comply with the obligation, the developer may be checked and fined.
The provisions in the Act are to oblige developers to run websites, on which housing prices are to be given from the beginning of sales to its termination.
418 deputies voted for adopting the amendment, 2 abstained. Nobody was against. Now the Senate will deal with the law.
A new obligation for deweiters
Pursuant to the Act, the developer will have to inform about all prices and additional purchase costs.
– The purpose of our project is to introduce regulations guaranteeing those interested in reliable and current information about the prices offered by developers of residential premises and single -family houses – explained Kamil Wnuk (Poland 2050 -TD) during the meeting of the Sejm Infrastructure Committee.
In the event of failure to comply with the obligation, according to the Act, the developer may be checked by Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and punished with a fine of 4 percent annual turnover. Pursuant to the Act, the buyer may demand the sale of real estate at a price for him more favorable in the event of a discrepancy between the price on the developer's website and the price offered at the conclusion of the contract.
If the law enters into force in the current shape, developers will have two months to adapt to new requirements.
The issue of statistics on the housing market
Deputy Minister of Development Tomasz Lewandowski during the second reading in the Sejm said that the law was supported by the government.
He added that in the near future a draft law on the Portal on Apartments (House), which is to present statistics on transaction prices on the housing market, would be directed to the permanent committee of the Council of Ministers.
“I am convinced that in the third quarter he will go to the high chamber,” he added.
