On Friday evening there were conditions conducive to the northern lights. It is worth hunting for the phenomenon, because the weather will be cheerful at night. At Contact24 we have already received the first photo reports.
According to Karol Wójcicki, the author of the blog “With the head in the stars”, on Friday evening very good parameters of the solar wind appeared.
“You can already observe a subtle aurora in the sky, visible mainly in photos in northern Poland. However, the awaited decrease in BZ to -16nt has just appeared on the horizon, which in the perspective of about 60-80 minutes (22.15) may cause pillars of the aurora, clearly visible outside Polish cities,” said Wójcicki.
There are the first relationships
Before 22 o'clock on Friday, the first photo reports from observation of the aurora flowed to us. The phenomenon was observed by reporters24 from Węgorzewo (Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship) and Nowogrod (Podlasie Voivodeship).
If you can observe the aurora, share your relationship on Contact24. It is worth hunting for the phenomenon because Aura promises to be cheerful throughout the country.
Aurora polar – how it arises
The northern lights are a light phenomenon that arises when the oil -sent gas particles sent by the sun hit the upper layer of the atmosphere of the Earth at high speed (up to 72 million kilometers per hour). The planet is protected from “attack” thanks to its magnetic field. It redirects particles towards the North and South Pole, and the particles interact with gases in our atmosphere.
Zorza occurs mainly in the area of the North and South Pole. Scientific name northern lights This is Aurora Borealis (near the North Pole) and Aurora Australis (near the South Pole). He comes from the name of the Roman goddess of dawn Aurora.
This phenomenon is called the dance of colorful lights: blue, green, purple, pink, red, yellow and white – depending on which gases it interactions. Oxygen secretes the green and red light, nitrogen shines on burgundy and purple, hydrogen and helium – blue and purple. It can have different forms – rays, curtains, bands, arches. The northern lights are best seen at night, even though it is formed thanks to the sun.
